The registration cost varies based on the term, with a 12-month fee for a passenger (non-commercial class) vehicle being $93. For different registration terms, the cost will be prorated. You can also renew online through the Government of Alberta’s website and designate Country Hills Plates as your registry agent.
If you want to renew someone else’s registration, it’s possible with proof of insurance, a digital or paper copy of the registration, and your driver’s license. If the registration has been expired for three months or more, the vehicle owner must provide a Vehicle Authorization Form, and no changes to the account can be made in this case.
Before renewing, ensure there are no overdue fines on your account. Any fines must be paid, including late fees. To determine the exact amount of fines, call 403-531-6575 and have your drivers licence number available.
